When we left our corporate finance jobs in 2014, it came somewhat as a shock to most that knew us. It was not a popular thing to do in a (barely) recovering global economy to leave the “safety and security” of corporate America. While we knew the going would be tough, and could see that we were in for years of uphill climbing as we built our business, we could see a brighter possibility on the other side.

Six years into it, the uphill climb hasn’t quite begun to level out and just as we think we are about to find steadier footing, life throws us another opportunity to stretch and grow. However, we’ve realized that the “brighter possibilities” we imagined weren’t necessarily waiting for us on the other side of a journey, but instead peeking behind every turn we’ve made.

The brightness comes from the people we’ve met along the way, and the places that have become familiar go-to spots for rest (and maybe a snack) while we’re out on the road during a day of showings.

Sometimes the brightness is quick and apparent, like meeting new clients that you instantly gel with and feel like you’ve been friends with forever. Other times the brightness takes time to reveal itself, like a home that didn’t quite feel right at first, but it got added to the list last minute and, would you believe it, felt like home the moment you stepped foot inside.

We know when we look for it, even the tumultuous year 2020 will have plenty of brightness shining through. Some parts will be apparent right away, and some may take a while to emerge, but we so hope that you find your share of brightness to light your way into the New Year.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being such a beacon of light in our business and lives. As we wrap up our 6th year in business, it’s not lost on us how lucky we are for your support, your referrals, and even simply your “likes” and “shares” on social media (which do so much more than you can know!). Truly, our light would be quite dim without you.

Until next year -

Bryce & Stefanie Lugo
